Kev Rowe: Video

"Burn Away"

"Burn Away", live at the Barking Spider, Cleveland, OH, 07/08/10

Thanks to Taylor McDaniel for shooting and posting this video for me!  Taylor was 5 years old when I first met her and her mom, Shannon who is also good friend and fan, at a show.  Now Taylor's 12. And it struck me at this last show that now I'm beginning to play for generations of people, which is very cool.  And something I didn't expect, but am now looking forward to.

"Something's Going Down" -Live at Skyline Acoustic Coffeehouse, Westlake, OH, 05/16/10

This is a cool little spot where musicians can play a song or two, just bring a guitar and play an instrumental, or do anything they wish.  I hosted the night and then played an hour set, mostly of new tunes off of "Hi Love".  Great way to spend a sunday night.  It was fun.  Thanks for posting the video Dan and Jill!

Big Leg Emma, "Walls of Jordan"

This is from the Big Leg Emma Reunion show at Jamestown Ice Arena on May 7th, 2010.  Wow, what a great time we had.  It was the best homecoming ever.  Thanks so much GeneGene for taking this video!

Big Leg Emma, "Toss the Feathers into Roaming Mind"

Todd Dalton introduces Big Leg Emma at Docksiders in Erie, PA on 05/08/10.

"Sing to Me"

This video was taken at the Wellsville Creative Center a couple years ago.  The first time I saw it I was a little embarrassed at how I look while I'm singing.  Now that some time has gone by I can watch it and think, "You know what, that guy's not so bad after all."  It's almost silly how critical we can be of ourselves.  Thanks for the video Don!

"I'd Rather Be a Dog"

Who doesn't like a good ol' song about dogs?  This video was taken at the Wellsville Creative Center in Wellsville, NY, a couple years ago.  This song was written when "Holly", my family's yellow lab, passed away.  Holly was in our house for most of my adolescence and when she finally died I wrote this as a tribute to her.  It also is about the modern dating scene :)

Watch my cd "hi love", get "mastered".

Dave Harris is the mastering engineer at Studio B Mastering in Charlotte, NC. And here he is mastering my new record "hi love". You see, right after mixing a cd there is this process called "mastering", in a whole other studio, and done by a different guy. Basically, he goes through each song and sets them at the right volume, equalization, compression, and adjusts many other settings, all with the goal of making a cohesive piece of musical art. He reminded me of a jazz musician actually, making cool music very much on the fly. It was fun for me to watch and I thought you might enjoy it. And you get to listen to a little piece of each song right after the next :)

"I'd Rather Be a Dog"

Lewis Bayers at the Labrador Rescue Kennel out of Tampa Bay, Florida made this video to help Hunter (the film's leading man) find a home, and used my tune, "I'd rather be a dog" as the music for it. I like it.  It's really well thought out actually, and fun.
