Hey y'all, I'm smackdab in the heart of summer heat (literally and figuratively). It's gettin hot in Charleston. I just got home from touring in NY on Chautauqua Lake and had a blast. Since the beginning of June, whenever I get a couple days, I've been heading up to Asheville, NC to record with Danny Kadar at Echo Mountain Studios. He's producing my next cd and has been bringing in some great musicians for me to play with. Danny has recorded some amazing musicians (The Avett Bros, Trey, My Morning Jacket) so It's been a real intense and amazing experience for me. And all the people (and dogs) that hang out at the studio are honest, music-loving people, making it a great environment for recording. Too soon for a release date, but I'm thinking late 08, early 09, but who knows really. Anyway, it's been a fun-filled, action-packed summer so far. See ya,
Kev

Hey, I just posted a new blog about how I got to play the encore "Horse with No Name" onstage with America at The Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria, VA this past week.
It was a great show, sold out, and a real interesting, kind of funny stream of events happened there. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I don't have enough room here to go into detail, but please check out my blog on myspace to read about it... Here's the link below, and just go to the Blog section on the right side:

Hi there. Got back from a tour in the snow up in PA and Ohio a couple weeks ago. Had lots of fun and met many cool, new folks. Since then I've been here in Charleston doing alot of writing and recording, and playing gigs here in Charleston and the south. Charleston has the coolest winter, it's more like a five month fall, which is cool cause that was my favorite season in the north. And the leaves still change and fall contrary to normal belief. And great dog walking weather (til summer hits).
So, I'm getting plenty of quality time with Kris, Lucy, and some new material, all at the homestead here, and life is basically pretty good. I'm kind of absorbing energy and refueling for this next year which should be pretty active again as I'll be touring alot (but just the right amount). Hopefully, I'll see you out there somewhere.

Here's some exciting news. I get to open for AMERICA at the Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria, VA on May 1st. AMERICA are legendary songwriters and have many songs you'd recognize, such as Horse with No Name and many others. And the Birchmere is a great concert theatre with a very reputable list of national performers. Should be great.
Also, in April I get to make my NYC debut at THE LIVING ROOM. Again, this is one I'm really psyched about as it is a premier spot for songwriters, right in the heart of NYC. Both of these gigs should be alot of fun so if you live in those areas, please come out. I'd love to see you.
And lots of other dates, hopefully in your area, on the TOUR page.
take care,
Kev

Just got back from an awesome run of dates with my new friend, Carla Gover, a songwriter from Kentucky. We did the "Blue Plate Special" WDVX Radio show and Barleys in Knoxville, and The Purple Onion and Soul Infusion in NC. Carla is a real old timey purist who plays the banjo, guitar, and sings beautifully. Her songs are straight from the heart of Appalachia and it was an inspiration for me to hang out with someone so authentic. Check her out if you get the chance:

I'm looking forward to playing electric with Sol Driven Train at the Pour House here in Charleston for NYE. It should be a nice finale to a fun year of touring, Kris and I moving to Charleston, and seeing exciting, new worlds.
see you soon,
Kev

Hi there. I just returned from a little tour with a new friend of mine, singer/songwriter, Diesel out of Nashville, TN. We did Nashville, Knoxville, and Johnson City - the "Tennessee Tour" if you will. Anyway, we had a blast. And I'm sure we'll be doing more shows together down the road.
My car's hanging in there at 190k miles, and still going strong. Later,

I just got back to SC from touring up north. Had a great tour, with the high point being the weekend in Jamestown, NY at the Local Music Showcase and Chautauqua County Music Awards. All I can say about the CCMA's is "Holy Bohemian Rhapsody!" That was phenomenal and I still smile when I think about it. Congrats to all of the performers at the event, who were all really, really great this year. And thanks to those of you who voted me "Best Singer/Songwriter of the Year". That was very nice. Overall, a great weekend and it made me feel proud and privileged to be a product of western New York's fantastic music scene.
see you soon,
Kev

A couple of weekends ago I went out on the road with my new Charleston, SC friends Sol Driven Train. They let me sit in on electric guitar. Anyway, we had a blast. If you get a chance, check em out:
www.myspace.com/soldriventrain.
Tomorrow, I fly up to NY for Jamestown's very own The Word's Local Music Showcase. I look forward to this every year as it is the one time of the year Chautauqua County's finest musicians are all in Jamestown on the same weekend, all playing together and a real feeling of community ensues. It's great. If your in the area, please come out and support the great event. I play at Labyrinth (on 4th street) Sat night at 9pm.
Many other cool gigs on this trip including opening for BLE in Erie, Put-In-Bay with Claire, Mojo's with Baxter and Jacinta, and many others. Hope to see you,
Kev

I met some really cool people the last couple weeks in Knoxville, Johnson City, and Aaronzona. It continues to blow me away at the amount of real music enthusiasts that are out here on the road, if you take the energy to come see them. I mean real, quality people who will feed you, house you, and nurture you like your a long lost family member. And they LOVE music. They are so inspiring to me. Thanks to Matt Woods of Knoxville, Sara and Paul of Johnson City, Hobex, Kyle and Jeff at Aaronzona for being such good people. see you soon,
Kev

So, I go on stage in 2 hours here in Greensboro, NC as I'm playing a city event called the "Fun Fourth", a 4th of July party downtown. Here's the funny part. This is Chris Daughtry's hometown (the guy from American Idol) and everyone thinks I'm Chris Daughtry. Seriously, I walk down the street and people are pointing at me, little girls giggling, etc..
And this very nice promoter, Michelle tells me Chris even filmed his latest video in downtown Greensboro 1 block away.
Then I get back to the hotel, check my e-mail and find I've received 2 awards from The Word Magazine back in Jamestown, NY: Best Solo CD and Best Solo Musician (tied with fellow Chris Daughtry look-a-like Tiny B). So now I'm back in a good mood. Thanks to The Word and those of you who voted. Chris who?

Kev

Tomorrow I drive north, for 2 weeks of shows up in the Ohio/New York area. It will be great to see old fans, friends, and family while hanging out on Chautauqua Lake. I've got a busy and fun summer ahead both in the north and south. Check the tour page for dates in your area. See you soon,
Kev

"How You Learn to Dance", "Good Enough", and "Eyes So Blue" all received Honorable Mention Awards in the 14th Annual Billboard World Song Contest.

"I'd Rather Be a Dog" just won a Finalist award in the 2006 Great American Song Contest. Thank you Holly.

Thanks to all of you who came out to my CD Release Party at Mojo's. It was great to see a lot of old friends and fans from my early band days with 5 Cubic Feet and Big Leg Emma, and some diehard Jamestown music people. And of course also great to see and meet many new people. And most thanks to Claire Stuczynski who opened the show, my band (Paul Liuzzo, Cody Anderson, and Betsy Rowe-Baehr), and Vikki Horowitz (my manager) for helping make the evening a unique and memorable night.
I'm back in Charleston, SC (my new home) for a few weeks and looking forward to some gigs down here in the south. And then some upcoming northern tours this summer.
take care,
Kev

Chautauqua Music
Germaine and Pappalardo Music
Ryder's Cup (my personal favorite)

and more to come...

The other, actually bigger news is that Kris and I have moved to Charleston, SC. We've been here about 2 weeks and really like it. And guess what, the people are no different than in NY, go figure. The weather however, much different.
Lots of touring, and having fun promoting the cd lately. Look for Kev and Band shows all summer long, starting with April 13th at Mojo's. See you soon,
Kev
My back hurts from all this driving though. I need a chiropractor sponsorship.

I'm back out on the road playing guitar with my friends Big Leg Emma. All together I'm doing 11 shows up until the end of the year. It has been great hanging out with and playing music with the old gang. See the tour page for dates.
A lot of other stuff in the works for 2007. I'm nearing completion on my next cd which should be out in April of next year. And I'm in the process of assembling Kev Rowe Band for the 2007 festival, summer season. It should be a lot of fun and I am very excited. See you soon,
Kev

So I pulled out my assorted box of winter hats today, of which I have many. And all at once I got that end of summer camp feeling where one season (summer) was almost completely consumed by another (fall of course). Also, I noticed on my calendar that tomorrow is the 1st day of fall (and the 1st day of Rosh Hashannah by the way). I don't know why the seasons changing kind of makes me a little sad. You'd think living in western NY my whole life I'd be used to it by now. I guess it's just a bittersweetness that I've learned to appreciate. Anyway, you got to love football, fall festivals, and the foliage. I wish we had a dog to walk. Someday.

Alright! My song "Eyes So Blue" just received a Finalist Award in the Unisong International Songwriting Contest. Also, in the Spring I was voted by the readers of The Chautauqua Region Word Newspaper as the "Chautauqua Solo Musician of the Year". Thanks for the vote if you helped out. It is nice to get rewards for something you love doing anyway.

Hi. I just got home from my Southern Tour in the NC/TN/GA area. Had a blast at some great songwriter's venues such as Eddie's Attic in Decatur, The Evening Muse in Charlotte, The Town Pump in Asheville, and many others. Thanks to all of the good friends who either came out for a show or let me sleep in the guest bedroom or on the guest sofa. I put 3500 miles on the old Honda Civic in 12 days, although to my trucker brother Dave that's nothing. The whole trip was great. I met lots of new people and learned a ton about myself in the process. I love this job.
So, I'm back 1 day and I've got 4 shows starting tonight at Webb's in Mayville to start my weekly Wed. acoustic series. Yeah baby!! See you soon,
Kev

I'd like to personally thank each and every one of you who did me the favor of voting Chris Daughtry off of American Idol. If one more person came up to me and said, "Hey, you look just like the bald guy from American Idol" I might have gone crazy. And since he didn't win, I now don't have to retire from the music business, which is awful nice.

Just found out I'm going to be making a little trip to the Georgia/North Carolina area this June. I'll be playing at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA on June 19th, which I'm pretty psyched about. Eddie's is a great venue for songwriters. Also, we're working on dates in Asheville, Charlotte, Nashville, and others. In addition to these shows there are plenty of new summer dates on the tour page, so check it out.

Been real busy lately and I'm loving it. Mostly, I've been working on my next solo cd doing demos and getting my stacks of songs organized and prepared, and doing shows of course. So far in the studio I've gotten to record with a good cast of characters: the lovely Amanda Barton whose doing some really cool violin parts on some instrumentals for me, Stevie French on bass, and John Maguire on drums. Damn it feels great to be lucky enough to have such talented people playing on my stuff. Anyway, it's just the beginning phases of this next cd so I can't make any predictions on when it will be out. But, I can guarrantee that it won't come out until I feel like it's the absolute best cd I could possibly make at this point in my life. See you soon,

Hi. Last week I had a birthday. (Don't feel guilty if you forgot to send me flowers). The cool thing is that the whole day kind of gave me perspective. I've entered a new decade and it had been a long time since I had been in a different one. And it made me appreciate my time cause the old decade was full of so many great experiences, such as touring and playing music with my bands (BLE, 5 cubic Feet), recording 5 cds, meeting and marrying Kris, college, JAMtown, 4 different living arrangements, my Infinity students, meeting so many awesome musicians, fans, and unique people, hundreds of songs and much more...Anyway, bring it on new decade. I hope your as interesting and exciting as the last one. (Take it easy on the hair though will ya)

Merry 2 days after Christmas. I'm happy when the Holidays come in and I'm happy when they go out. One kind of unique present I got this year was I was voted as a "person of the year" in Jamestown's weekly magazine, THE WORD. That is so cool. Mostly, I was voted for the work I've done with JAMtown Records, our community based record label. And really, right about the time I'm wondering how effective the idea has been, something like this happens and I'm only excited more to do everything I can for the things I believe in. Anyways, thanks for the cool honor to those who wrote in and voted for me. It was truly an inspiring, and unexpected gift. And for those of you that haven't picked up the JAMtown compilation yet, you really should (www.chautauquaamp.com). Well, personally I'm looking forward to a new year. It always feels good to start fresh.
see you soon,

Happy Holidays. Over Thanksgiving I spent a lot of time with family and KIDS. Lots of em. It was great. We went ice skating, played laser tag (with like 40 people so it was more like laser war), and of course ate. And it all reminded me to not be so serious all the time and to always have fun with the child inside. And that in any combat situation, such as "Laser War", it's best to have family on your side.
Lots of acoustic shows coming up that I'm excited about. Travelling in Winter is not necessarily fun, but I've got snow tires so I'm ready. And when I get somewhere it makes it so much better - like I just crossed the Mohave to play for people I couldn't see otherwise.
     -October 19, 2005. (Happy B-day Mom!)
Hi there. It's getting cold and I'm enjoying the plummage and harvest benefits that come with this time of year. Working on new material and re-writing the old. Actually just sorting through the piles of random material I accumulate throughout the summer. Enjoying some pre-production recording for my next acoustic CD too. I think I discovered the name for it too. I can't tell you though, that wouldn't be any fun. Playing all the time somewhere.
Find a snuggle partner for the winter if you don't have one yet. It will be here soon.

Hello everybody. It's been a great summer of touring the festivals with Big Leg Emma this year. And as the summer starts to wind down of course my acoustic touring dates for the fall and winter will start to wind up. This seasonal-musical change has become kind of a fun transition from one side of my musical personality to the other for me.
I'm really excited to welcome Vikki Horowitz from Museek Management as my new manager/booking agent. She has a great, hardworking, focused energy and is really going to help me get out there to see all of you. In fact, many new dates are on the tour dates page, with many more to be added soon. So please check back as the fall approaches.
Thanks for all of your love and support, and I look forward to seeing you at my acoustic shows this fall/winter.
