Kev Rowe: Interesting
10 weird facts about Kev...

1. Heart Birthmark - I have a birthmark on my right foot that is red and shaped like a heart. I know, weird huh? In fact a couple years ago, my wife Kris got a tattoo on her right foot in exactly the same shape and color so we could have matching birthmarks. But hers wore off. I guess the skin on your foot grows back many times more often than normal skin because we walk on it, for those interested in a future foot tattoo.2. Marching Band Geek - Yup, and proud of it, played the trumpet. And I was pretty awful. Don't get me wrong, I had potential. But the 3 years of braces combined with the fact that I was really too busy playing my guitar for hours and hours after school each day, kind of stunted my growth a little. Went to the bahamas with the marching band though! And I made good friends that I still keep in touch with today. And I think it definitely got me hooked on the whole "band" concept of being just one part of something far greater than myself.
3. "The 2 to Stop Rule" - I have this rule on the road that I will not stop the car unless there are 2 things to do (drives my passengers crazy). Like, get food and fill up on gas. Or go to the bathroom and get food. Or fill up on gas and get coffee. Or put air in the tires and go to the bathroom. You get the point. Anything else would be inefficient and would waste time. And that drives me crazy. It's very anal I know.
4. Huge Howard Stern Fan - I don't care how controversial he is. I love him. I think he's incredibly smart, witty, and really loves people. For hours and hours on the road over the last 4 years I've listened to him and imagined myself as being a member of his radio team as I've gotten to know Robin, Fred, Bababooey, and Howard's crew. And he's not at all crass or demeaning to women now that he's older. Love him. In fact, on the road I spend half of my time on the Howard Stern channel, the other half on the Grateful Dead channel.5. My Favorite TV Show is "Survivor" - It's the only show I must Tivo, and then watch when I can. I've watched every season except for 1. It's a very competitive and smart game. And for some reason I love to see people lying to each other and manipulating each other for their own personal gain. But it's a game, so it's totally allowed and encouraged. It's the exact opposite of life, which I find very entertaining.
6. Love Scrabble - Wow, I'm just realizing what a dork I am all of the sudden. In college, my roommates and I would play endless games of Scrabble in between going to concerts, the casino, and oh yeah - a few classes. I haven't played for awhile but I'm always up for it. My two favorite words - Xi, and Qua - mad points baby.
7. Tennis Champ - In high school I was the #1 singles player and went 32-1 in my junior and senior seasons. In fact, I would have been 31-0 but Coach Rollinger scheduled one more random, impromptu match against Sherman where I lost to my arch nemesis, Carl Weise. And this would be the last match of my illustrious career. I'm not bitter though ;) Haven't played as I've gotten older, but am looking forward to it in retirement someday.
8. Dog Lover - My wife, Kris and I have two dogs, Lucy and Reba. They are like our kids.
9. Used to be a Gambling Addict - Okay, addict might be a tad strong. But, I definitely had a problem. Between the ages of 14 and 24 I was betting on every sport and making routine trips to the casinos every other weekend in western NY. And I lost a lot of money. I'm not proud of it. And it's definitely embarrassing for me to admit to you. Now, I take chances in the studio. Totally healthy and productive!10. Huge Phish Fan - The jam band, Phish, is my favorite band. Some people find this odd when I first tell them, I guess because I am a songwriter and Phish is more known for instrumental jamming. But, I'm an electric guitarist too. In fact, long before I was writing songs I was writing riffs and jamming on my electric (just ask my college roommates). My brother Dave brought me to my first Phish show when I was 16 and I've been hooked ever since.
Sorry, if you thought I was "cool" before reading this list.
