Kev Rowe: booking

Booking Information

Interested in booking me for a concert or event? I do all kinds of shows... house concerts, festivals, city events, bars, colleges, ambience music for restaurants and weddings - I even play a state hospital... you name the event, chances are I'm willing to play it. I will travel pretty much anywhere in the United States.

It's not as hard as you think. In fact, it's really quite easy and my fees are reasonable. While I'm not in this for the money, I do have to support myself as well as the continued growth of my art. My main concern is that I have...

    a) the opportunity to sell my CDs (so that people can take my music home with them and share it with more people...)

    b) the opportunity to perform for new people (so they can experience the music first hand and see that a singer/songwriter concert can not only be an intimate and fun experience, but also a cherished memory that will last forever.)

    c) my travel expenses covered. For obvious economic reasons, I don't wish to lose money when I do a show. If I am already booking a tour in your area, you probably don't have to worry about travel expenses as I usual play enough shows to cover my costs with my fee. However, if you're contacting me to do a one-off show, I'll probably need you to cover my travel expenses as well. Read more on that below.

Basic Fees

My fees do vary depending on the event and location, but generally speaking, I ask a $500 fee for a concert unless there are special circumstances. If the concert is at a church or a fund-raiser, for example, and there isn't a budget for a concert event, I'll work with you to find something that works for both of us. If you want to have me come play for you, don't let the fee discourage you. Talk to me. Let's see what we can work out.

I usually try to get $500 for a house concert if I can, but I realize not everyone can afford that. The fee is negotiable to some degree based on my schedule and other performances I may have in your area. Read more about house concerts below. Also, see the info on travel expenses

House Concerts

House concerts are a wonderful thing! They are incredibly intimate and will provide your guests with an unforgettable memory! If you wish to have me come and play a concert in your home, there are a couple of things to mention:

    a) I can and will provide my small PA system, if you like.  I have it with me in my travels and am more than happy to use it.  However, it is only a PA system for guitars and vocal.  I can not do sound for an entire band, if circumstances need it. But, if you are just hiring me to come and do a concert for you, my PA will be more than enough.  The use of my PA is included in the cost of the concert. If you have rented sound or have one you'd like me to use, that'd be fine too.

    b) I would ask that you be willing to help promote the show to your friends, family, and acquaintances, and that you commit to doing your best to bring at least 20-30 people into your home.

    c) I try and get $500 for a house concert if I can to help cover my expenses, though I know not everyone can afford that. If that's more money than you can afford, contact me anyway, and let's see what we can arrange based on my tour schedule and availability. Financial Tip: Some folks will ask a $10/person donation from attendees to help pay the fee or even just to put that toward supporting my music. That's fine by me. Also, please read the info above about travel expenses below, as that could enter into it.

Colleges, city events, theatres, bars, etc...

The rate will vary depending on the circumstance. If the concert is a ticketed event, an example of my fee would be $500 or 50% of ticket sales, whichever is greater. See the below info on travel expenses as well.

Ambience music

Just want me to sit down and play for your event? Then this is for you. The price varies depending on the location. If you're in my local area and I can drive to you, you're looking at $300 for an evening of acoustic music (with singing if you choose). If I have to travel, it's $500. See the info below on travel expenses.as well.

Travel Expenses

If you're in either the Charleston, SC or Jamestown, NY, areas, there are no travel expenses to worry about as this is where I spend much of my time and chances are I can drive to you. If you're booking me as part of a concert tour then you probably won't need to worry about travel expenses. I can work that into my $500 fee, so if I can book several shows in one area, my expenses are covered by that. However, if this is a one-off concert, meaning I'm either flying or driving out (depending on how far it is) just for your show, then travel expenses need to be taken into consideration. I will go pretty much anywhere within the U.S. to play a concert so long as my basic expenses (air, car rental and accommodations) are covered. When you contact me, just let me know where you're located and I can give you a general price range of what to expect. If you don't think you can afford that, contact me anyway. I may be able to include you on a tour route at some point in the near future, and if I can do that, you don't need to worry about travel expenses. Feel free to email me at kev@kevrowe.com to discuss the possibilities.

Sponsorships: For help paying my fee, considering asking a local business or business person to cover my fee for the event.  In exchange, you can print their business information on a program plus I will be happy to give them a public acknowledgment/word of appreciation at the concert.

Other items to note..

Availability: If you've checked out my calendar lately, you can see how booked I am. I'm booking some shows almost a year out now. If you are in the Charleston, SC or Jamestown, NY areas, I may be able to squeeze you in somewhere. Shows elsewhere require a bit more time to plan and fit within my schedule. I like to book out of state shows at least four months in advance, preferably six. So contact me at kev@kevrowe.com and we'll see what we can work out.

Time: Expect a show to run about two hours with a break. If you have a specific program length in mind, shorter or longer, it can be arranged.
